Horses of Racing Age Nominations

Horses of Racing Age nomination forms can be downloaded here (PDF file).

Yearlings are eligible to be nominated after February 28 by payment of $12,000 if their sire was nominated in the year of conception or $18,000 if their sire was not properly nominated in the year of coneception.

Any racehorse may be nominated at any time and receive eligibility for their entire racing career. Nominations made prior to July 15th receive a discount on the standard racehorse nomination fee. Nomination fees are listed below.

All horses sired by stallions properly nominated in the year of conception to the Breeders' Cup are eligible to be nominated to the Breeders' Cup program by payment of this one-time nomination fee. The nomination fee ensures lifetime racing eligibility for that horse.

All horses sired by stallions not nominated in the year of conception to the Breeders'Cup are eligible to be nominated to the Breeders' Cup program by payment of this one-time nomination fee. The nomination fee ensures lifetime racing eligibility for that horse.

A Breeders' Cup nominated horse is eligible to participate in all purse and awards programs of the Breeders' Cup including the $31 million Breeders' Cup World Championships races for its entire racing career without any further nomination payments due.

Horse Nominators are paid nominator awards through the Breeders' Cup Win and You're In Series and the $31 million Breeders' Cup World Championships, regardless of whether the nominator still owns the horse.
